Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 is a lighthearted role-playing game that satisfies the need to explore dungeons, collect items, fight evil monsters, and save the world. But the game's simplicity works against it at times, making it feel somewhat limited compared to other role-playing games, which are typically much more far-reaching and complex. The generic story and tiny world of Swordcraft Story 2 are disappointing, but once you get past that, you'll find yourself having a lot of fun with the endearing characters, rewarding weapon-crafting system, and frequent boss battles.

With more than 200 different weapons at your disposal, these little yellow blobs don't stand a chance.

Even though Swordcraft Story 2 takes place in the same world as the first game in the series, the two games are completely unrelated, so you don't have to have played the first game in order to know what's going on in this one. As the story begins, Swordcraft Story 2 jumps right in with the clichés. You play as an orphan that's descendant from a long line of noble warriors who have always protected the Seal of Goura in the small village of Cliff. The Seal is a magical barrier that keeps the evil beast known as Goura safely confined where it can't hurt the peaceful residents of the town. One day the seal is broken by some mischievous meddlers, threatening the very existence of the town of Cliff and the world beyond. It's up to you to search for the legendary Daemon Edge, the only sword capable of defeating Goura. To do that, you have to become a craftknight, which is sort of a fancy blacksmith who can create powerful weapons with the help of a special helper known as a guardian beast. The story is about as derivative and generic as it comes, but it takes a backseat to the basic dungeon-crawling that makes up the bulk of the gameplay in Swordcraft Story 2.

When you begin the game, you're given a choice of playing a male or female lead character. The differences between the two are entirely cosmetic, though, and the story doesn't change at all whether you're male or female. The story does get a bit more varied depending on which of the four guardian beasts you choose as your partner. The main character and the guardian beast interact frequently and at length, and since each of the four beasts has a distinct personality, the beast you choose has a substantial effect on the story. The dialogue between you and your guardian beast can be quite funny at times, so there's some incentive to playing the game multiple times to get to know each of the different beasts.

In addition to comic relief, the guardian beasts also provide support in battle. You can equip your beast with magic spells as well as items that can be used to heal your hero or damage enemies. The magic system isn't implemented very well in the game, though, because you can only cast each spell a limited number of times and your beast only gets a handful of actions per battle. The magic is also devalued by the fact that the battles are real time, which means that it's much more effective to just mash the attack button and slash away at enemies than it is to scroll through a list of spells in the midst of battle. In the longer boss battles, you'll often need to use some healing items or spells, but beyond that you'll rarely need to summon your guardian beast during battle.

Swordcraft Story 2 uses a random encounter system like many role-playing games, but instead of initiative-based battles, the battles are in real time. The fights take place from a side perspective, and you can block, jump, attack, and move around freely. Most of the enemies simply require you to walk up and slash them a few times, but there are particularly tough enemies that might require you to mix things up with the occasional block. You can take three different weapons into battle, and each weapon has a durability rating. Your weapon takes damage with each strike or block, and it will eventually break. If all your weapons break, you're left with your smithing hammer, which isn't enough to keep you alive for long. It's an interesting consideration to keep in mind during battle, but for the most part you can just ignore it. Most of your weapons can take a lot of damage, and you can also get items to repair them before they break. Even then, you'll very rarely ever find yourself lacking a weapon, because most of the dungeons are very short and you can always warp back to town for repairs.

Since you are a craftknight, you have the ability to make your own weapons rather than purchasing them from vendors or finding them in treasure chests. You have to find special templates to create specific types of weapons. You can create swords, axes, spears, drills, and knuckles, and each weapon type has its logical advantages and disadvantages. The axe is powerful but slow, the spear has good range but isn't powerful, the drill can break through defenses, and so on. In the previous game in the series, you could derive raw materials from all of the items you collected in the game. In this game it's much simpler: You find materials in an already usable state, take them to your workshop, and forge weapons. Depending on the materials you use, your weapons will get special stat bonuses. You can also upgrade and disassemble weapons to make them stronger or imbue them with elemental properties. The weapon-crafting system is quite simple, but with more than 200 different weapons to create, it can be rewarding to search for materials and experiment with different combinations to upgrade your weapons or create new ones.

When you aren't making weapons or chatting it up with your guardian beast, you'll spend most of your time exploring dungeons and forests to collect special items or to talk to certain characters. Most of the game takes place in the forest area on the outskirts of the game's single town. There are only a handful of dungeons, and none of them are very large or complex. You'll have to visit the same couple of dungeons several times throughout the game, and a lot of the quests require you to skip back and forth between town and dungeon, which results in a lot of tedious backtracking. Although the game will take you around 15 hours to complete, it feels much smaller than that because you never really get the feeling that you're going anywhere. Instead, you just keep covering the same ground and talking to the same people.

You'd better get used to these trees, because you'll visit this forest over and over and over again throughout the game.
The presentation in Swordcraft Story 2 is bright and colorful, with detailed backgrounds and attractive (if a bit saccharine) character designs. Several of the dungeons in the game do use the same generic tilesets, which can get dull after awhile. There's the forest area, the underground cavern, the ice area, and the futuristic factory, all of which look like they could have come from just about any other role-playing game. The bosses and enemies all look large and imposing on the battle screen, and they animate well. There are some special effects to accompany magic attacks, but they aren't especially dazzling. Still, the graphics look charming overall, and they fit the tone of the game well. The music is good as well, with themed tunes to fit each area you visit. There isn't much in the way of sound effects, except the clank of weapons during battle and a couple digitized battle cries.

Swordcraft Story 2 doesn't take any chances with the formula established in the first game in the series, but that works to its benefit. Like the first game, this one has a simplistic charm that makes is easy to lose yourself in for a good, long while without getting frustrated with bloated, nonsensical plots or convoluted design gimmicks. If you're looking for an epic saga to embark on, this isn't your game. However, if you're looking for a simple role-playing game that doesn't require a lot of effort to enjoy, you should give Swordcraft Story 2 a look.

Rune Factory 2- A Fantasy Harvest Moon {PC} NDS

Rune Factory 2- A Fantasy Harvest Moon {PC} Game

The Harvest Moon series of farming sims has been a source of constant fun for a focused group of gamers for over a full decade now -- but after 10 years sowing the same seeds and reaping the same crops, those same fans were in the mood for something new. So last year Natsume responded with Rune Factory, a reimagined remix of the long-running farming formula. The game, which received high praise from critics and fans alike when it hit the DS last year, kept the traditional agricultural simulation in place, but also added in a "second half" to the gameplay -- dungeon-crawling. The resulting combination of sim and adventure mechanics made the game a winner. And that winner's back for an encore.

Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is the new sequel to last year's Rune Factory, and offers the same half-farming, half-fighting hybrid design as its predecessor did. Almost exactly the same, in fact. And, for that matter, its storyline is pretty much a cut-and-paste -- a mysterious boy with amnesia shows up in a quaint little town and is given the gift of an abandoned farm to live and work on by some generous local villagers.

And then the adventure is largely the same, too -- there are four different dungeons to crawl through, and once again each one is themed on a different season of the year. Spring, summer, winter and fall. One apiece. And the inevitable pursuit of romance is also pretty much unaltered, with a selection of non-player character young ladies whom you can woo and win as your wife, to get married and raise a family.

So, for anyone who's played the first Rune Factory from last year, it won't be very long into this experience before you realize that it's essentially the exact same game. The characters are different, the land is changed -- the surface-level features have all received a fresh coat of paint. But, underneath it all, it's the same core product. Rune Factory 2 is not so much a numeral-worthy sequel as it is just a bit-more-polished follow-up, freshly made for 2008.

That kind of thing happens a lot on the DS, so it's probably not all that surprising to anyone. And it should be an especially predicted revelation for any long-time Harvest Moon fans, who've long come to expect that drastic, major overhauls just don't happen in that series from one year to the next. But, luckily, none of this disqualifies Rune Factory 2 from being an excellent title on DS. Because the first Rune Factory was so solid, and because this follow-up doesn't fix what isn't broken, it is itself also a great game.

Your character wakes up each morning and is ready to work the fields, tilling the soil, sowing the seeds, and harvesting the ripe crops to sell for a profit. After a hard morning's work, maybe he heads off to town for the afternoon to do some shopping, or chat it up with the local single girls, or take some extra quest assignments from the village's central bulletin board.

Or maybe he blows off all of that responsibility and just heads out for a day of hacking and slashing some dungeon-dwelling monsters. That's always an option, too, as the nearby forest, mountain range and tropical island are all crawling with baddies, each one of which is waiting to meet you in combat. Or, instead of defeating them in battle, you could seek to win them over -- gaining their loyalty and taking them on as companions. Monsters you've "captured" in this way can become your partners in future battles, or can even be put to work tending to your farm while you're away enjoying the local town festivals.

The point to impress is that the Rune Factory design is full of depth and options, with so many things to see and do that you could easily find yourself playing it for 20 hours or more. If you get invested in the storyline, too, you'll find the available length especially satisfying -- there's a twist halfway through the plot that we won't spoil here, but extends the appeal of the overall experience quite a bit. Overall, this kind of addictive adventure is an excellent return on your investment of 30 bucks.

Pokemon light crystal version {PC Game}

Pokemon light crystal version {PC Game}
New region: Zhery - New Leaders and Elite Four - New Rivals - Pokémon of all Regions (Johto, Kanto, Hoen, Sinnoh) - New way to travel between areas - All Pokemon Legendary - All new sprites - All new events - All new tiles - New final event: Pokemon World Championship!

Pokemon Light Platinum Ratings

Overall Graphics Sound Addictiveness Depth Story Difficulty
Average User Score 9.6 9 8.3 9.4 9 8.7 6.5
grim creaper's Score 9.4 9 7 9 10 8 6

I have nothing better to do so I guess I'll write a review for this game.  I'll start of with describing the graphics.

I rated the Graphics as a 9 because compared to a majority of the other games, their pretty decent.  Most of the hacks I've played use very similar graphics, and it makes for a semi-boring game, but the graphics on here at least make the game play a bit more interesting.  I don't really pay attention to shades or what different tiles are so I can't really give this section a great review... The reason I didn't rate this section as a 10, is because the graphics are still a little bit buggy.  I remember in one town, there was a building where it would look as if you're standing on the roof instead of behind the building.

Sound... I rated this a 7, because as far as I could tell it just copied the music of the gba games.  Not that the sounds on the gba games are bad, but after playing the Pokémon series for countless years the sounds get old after awhile... I would have liked to see an upgrade to the sound in this hack, but extra content added makes up for everything.  Besides, I fast forwarded for most of the game.

Addictiveness... It's a fairly addictive game.  Anybody who has played and beaten Pokémon Emerald will enjoy this game.  It's kind of like the Gold/Silver/Crystal versions combined with Emerald.  There's not much to do after you beat the World Championship...  But there is an entire second region, complete with 8 gyms and a new, stronger elite four to beat.

I rated the story as an 8 because it's not much different from the typical Pokémon game.  Set out on a quest to beat Gym Leaders, get badges, fight your rivals numerous times, beat the Elite 4, become the champion... All the while attempting to stop a gang of villains from accomplishing their sinister plots.  However, Team Steam had a new goal compared to the other villains in the gba games, and there's an entire second region to explore, so that's why I rated this an 8.

The Depth category of this game is DEFINETLY rated a 10.  This game clearly took a long time to make.  The elite four of the second region seems like a more powerful version of the first regions elite four... But they have a few different Pokémon on their teams.  The world championship has 7 rounds and can't be healed in between them... There are a ton of rivals in this game, I think at least 3 or 4.  The gyms are all unique, with new layouts and customized teams.  Pokémon are available from all generations, including every possible legendary known to man (Although a majority of them can only be caught after defeating the second region's elite four)...  Can't really think of anything else to add to this category.  It took me 2 days of nearly non-stop play to actually beat this game.

As for a little side note I'd like to add... This game is without a doubt worth looking into.  The only downside is it has a tendency to glitch up if you use the in game save and reset your game...  I would recommend sticking with save states, I never had a single issue with this game.  The only glitches I encountered were beneficial ones (Nearly unlimited masterballs, a way to rematch one of the trainers, etc.).  Oh, and several towns in the second region can't be flown to, even after you visit their Pokémon Centers.

Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon

It is a nice game as you are farmer in this game and you have to play this game as by becoming a farmer. You have to do all the works of farmer like you have to buy seeds of different items and have to place that seeds into your field. But remember that different seeds are available in different seasons so wait for the seasons and do cropping and harvesting. And one thing more that only cropping and harvesting you cannot do in this game you can buy different animals and then you have to take care of those animals as you are farmer if you are taking good care of those animals then they will provide you valuable items by which you can earn money. One thing more as this game is totally based on farmer’s life so remember that  you have to go for sleep early night at 9:00 o’clock ok got it know go and play the game and earn many money.
                  This game is made by RPG and it is a gba game.
